Description of Practice:
Mr. Macy's law practice specializes in estate planning, asset protection and trust administration for disabled and elderly persons. Particular practice areas include Medicaid law, guardianship and conservatorship proceedings, drafting and administration of special needs trusts, and court-appointed fiduciary services. Mr. Macy consults regularly with other Massachusetts counsel on trust drafting and administration matters, asset protection and probate court procedures related to estate management for incapacitated persons.
Professional History:
Mr. Macy joined Weston Patrick as a member in 2003 after nine years of solo practice in Newton and Brookline, Massachusetts. In 2004 he co-founded the Family Trust of Massachusetts, Inc., a charitable organization that presently manages over $14M in Special Needs Trust accounts for more than 200 elderly and disabled individuals. Mr. Macy continues to serve as Executive Director of the Family Trust. Prior to his law career, Mr. Macy trained and worked in counseling psychology in Cambridge, Somerville and Brookline, Massachusetts.
