Personal Injury

The lawyers at Weston Patrick, P.A. represent individuals who have been injured, and the families of people who have been injured or killed, by negligent or reckless conduct. Over many decades of experience, we have collectively handled vast numbers of cases involving automobile collisions, drunk driving, dangerous products, workplace accidents, defective premises and roadways, construction activities and defects, tripping and slipping hazards, and other types of cases involving serious bodily injury and emotional harm.

Our clients’ best interests are our primary concern. With this priority in mind, we regularly represent people who have been involved in:

  • Construction Accidents
  • Motor Vehicle Accidents (injuries to drivers, passengers, cyclists and pedestrians)
  • Premises Liability (slipping or tripping accidents and failure to warn of dangerous conditions)
  • Product Liability (defects in manufacture or design, and failure to warn of product danger)
  • Workplace and Industrial Injuries
  • Wrongful Death

Our clients include many people who have been injured at work, and who need worker’s compensation claims prosecuted vigorously to assure their abilities to support themselves and their families.

We are experienced with the causes, treatments and medical implications of all types of injuries, including bone fractures, amputations, lacerations, spine fractures, dislocations and herniations, soft-tissue sprains and strains, traumatic or repetitive injuries to muscles, tendons and ligaments, head injuries and concussions, nerve injuries and reflex sympathetic dystrophy, neurologic and emotional injuries including post-traumatic stress disorder, chemical sensitivity and response to toxic exposures, injuries caused by improper medical diagnosis and treatment, scarring and disfigurement, chronic pain, and many other types of bodily and emotional injuries.

We are knowledgeable about the financial consequences of personal injuries, which include medical bills, all types of insurance coverage, such as automobile insurance, homeowner’s insurance and health insurance, and replacement of damaged personal property. We also help our clients with claims for the lost ability to earn income following an injury. We pursue claims for worker’s compensation benefits, short-term and long-term disability coverage, and compensation from other parties for lost wages and income because of an accident-related disability.

We also have experience with many cases of wrongful death over the years. Family members who have lost a loved one have the right to recover money damages for the care, companionship, guidance, emotional support and financial contributions which they would have received from the deceased person. These cases require detailed evidence of the specific relationships which have been lost forever because of the wrongful death of a family member.

Our experience in personal injury law extends to both sides of the courtroom: Weston Patrick attorneys regularly pursue the rights of the injured with zeal and determination, and they also defend claims brought against their clients with the same energy and resolve. (For more information, see our section on “Insurance Defense.”) This experience in all aspects of personal injury litigation allows us to bring comprehensive knowledge of the substance and procedure to every personal injury claim or defense, and to obtain the best possible outcome for our clients.

Our representation begins immediately after an accident or other traumatic event, involves all phases of investigation and discovery, and continues through trial, arbitration, mediation and settlement, or other resolution of the claim on behalf of the client. The personal injury practice at Weston Patrick is highly-regarded by the Massachusetts legal community, of which it has been a part for over a century.

The ultimate measure of a personal injury case is the extent to which a client’s quality of life has been damaged. We represent clients in obtaining full compensation for their lost quality of life, which can be caused by chronic pain and suffering, total or partial disability, impairment in the ability to carry on activities of daily living, loss of enjoyment in life, permanent scarring and disfigurement, and chronic pain and suffering.
